The Maison du Passage is a window on the past...
Ancient stone, contemporary comforts and a warm welcome from the people who call this place home. La Maison du Passage brings together the pleasures of a boutique stay and the intimacy of a French guesthouse.
With just six rooms and suites, sunny terraces and quiet corners to make your own, there is room here to settle into a different rhythm. Unpack, look around and let your holiday begin.
Our house has been part of village life for centuries. Its vaulted passage, thick stone walls and former watchtower hold the traces of a long and colourful past.
Restoring it became a labour of love. Working with an architect and skilled craftspeople, we preserved its character while making room for contemporary design, beautiful materials and the comforts we love.
Today, old stone sits happily alongside unexpected artwork and inviting interiors. A historic house, very much alive.

A little village in the South of France
Narrow lanes, stone houses, olive groves and vineyards: Martignargues has the quiet charm you might hope to find on a French countryside holiday.
It is also a village where people live, work and tend the surrounding land. Take a stroll from the doorstep, follow a path through the countryside or simply enjoy the peaceful setting.
Uzès, Nîmes and the Cévennes offer plenty of reasons to head out. Coming back here is a pleasure of its own.
A refreshing dip, a comfortable sun lounger and the silvery leaves of olive trees nearby. Our intimate pool is made for cooling off, unwinding and enjoying the southern sunshine.
With massage jets and a counter-current swimming system, it offers a little more than somewhere to dip your toes. And with no children in the house, afternoons can be wonderfully peaceful.
The pool is open and heated from June to the end of September, subject to suitable weather and water temperatures.
Above the village, our rooftop hot tub looks out across the surrounding countryside. Heated to 37°C / 99°F throughout the year, it is a lovely place to pause, even when the air turns crisp.
For your own private retreat, choose one of our three suites with a private hot tub. An infrared sauna adds another way to unwind, while in-room massages can be arranged at an additional charge, subject to the practitioner’s availability.
The terrace overlooking the church, the rooftop lounge, a shady spot in the little garden… Follow the sunshine or settle into the shade with a book.
On quieter afternoons, there are board games in the lounge and the irresistible possibility of a proper siesta.
Give yourselves three or four nights: time to explore, time to enjoy the house, and time for a day with no plans at all.

We first fell for Martignargues in 2007. A few years later, the house next door gave us the chance to fulfil a long-held dream: welcoming guests into a home of our own making.
François cooks; Hervé looks after you at the table. Together, we care for the house, share our favorite places and help you make the most of your stay.
We enjoy a good conversation, and we understand the pleasure of being left to yourselves. Make yourselves at home, in your own way.
